Extension of emergency docking due to generator malfunction of Ferry Chikushi and change of ship assignment due to crew shortage

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued support of our business.
On August 18, a malfunction was confirmed in the generator on Ferry Chikushi. Currently, the vessel is operating on the Hakata-Iki-Tsushima route and the Inzuji-Karatsu route via emergency docking. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to our current and future passengers.
Regarding the malfunction, the equipment manufacturer has reported delays in procuring materials, and there is currently no estimated timeframe for recovery. In light of this situation, we have decided to extend the period of operation with emergency docking until Thursday, January 15, 2026. (We are currently applying for approval.)
We will provide further information if the repair work progresses and Ferry Chikushi is restored earlier or if the extension is required.
In addition, we normally increase the number of ferry services during the New Year holidays to accommodate demand for returning home and other occasions. However, due to a chronic crew shortage, we regret to inform you that we will not be increasing the number of ferry services this year and will instead operate under an emergency dock arrangement. (We are currently applying for approval.)
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to customers who plan to use the ferry on this route, and we appreciate your understanding.
